Yannick de Waal is an actor and filmmaker. He is best known for his leading role in the film Confetti Harvest (2014), which was selected for the International Film Festival Berlin. The Hollywood Reporter praised his performance: “Yannick de Waal, as Kat’s big brother and ally Christiaan, impresses as the primus inter pares of the protagonist’s small army of siblings.” He was featured in Peter Kosminsky’s 4-part series The State (2017), which was nominated for a BAFTA award in the category ‘Best Mini-series’, and he starred as the enigmatic George in the Blackpills series Immortality (2018), directed by Nick Parish.

Yannick's cinematic journey commenced at the tender age of 12 with a role in the family-friendly film Kapitein Rob en het Geheim van Professor Lupardi (2007). Shortly thereafter, he graced the screen in the film Breath (2007), a film that not only earned a coveted spot at the Cannes International Film Festival but also garnered a nomination for Best Short Film at the Dutch Film Festival.
Yannick's presence graced numerous Dutch television series, spanning Bureau Raampoort (2014-2015), Zwarte tulp (2015), Floor Faber (2009), De Troon (2010) portraying the young King Willem III and De Val van Aantjes (2013), and he starred in the award-winning short film Parnassus (2015). Yannick played a prominent role in the series Het Gouden Uur (2022), directed by Bobby Boermans.
Yannick has co-written the award-winning series Oorlog-stories (2020) which won a prestigious Rockie Award at the BANFF World Media Festival and a Cinekid Television Award. Yannick took on the roles of writer and director for the first time with A Pink Moon Comes (2022). This cinematic gem has not only been featured in numerous global film festivals but has also been honored with several well-deserved awards.
