Nico’s horror masterpiece Moloch (2022) that he directed and co-wrote, starring Sallie Harmsen in the lead role, was a runaway success. The film took home Best European Film at the Brussels International Festival of Fantasy Film, as well as Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Picture at the Anatomy Crime and Horror Film Festival.
Nico had the incredible opportunity to be mentored by renowned horror masterminds James Wan and Sam Raimi before creating Moloch. Wan is the visionary behind iconic films like The Conjuring, Insidious, and Saw, while Raimi is celebrated for his work on Evil Dead and Drag me to Hell.
He has two feature films in development based on his Dutch short films Het Juk and Sweet Tooth. The latter title was purchased by New Line Cinema, the Hollywood studio responsible for Nightmare on Elm Street, The Conjuring franchise and It. Het Juk screened in competition at some of the most prestigious international genre festivals and won awards at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montréal, the Strasbourg European Fantastic Film Festival and the San Sebastian Horror & Fantasy Film Festival.
