Jan Kooijman is a multi-talented actor, TV-host, dancer and singer. He started his career as a professional dancer at the Scapino Ballet in Rotterdam. In 2010 he received the prestigious Dutch Television Star for 'Best Upcoming Talent', and in 2011 he received a Kids Choice Award for 'Best Dutch and Belgian TV-star'.

After being cast as the lead in the feature film Verliefd op Ibiza (2013) by Johan Nijenhuis, Kooijman rose to fame starring in a series of box office successen such as Hartenstraat (2014), De Zevende Hemel (2017) next to Halina Reijn and Noortje Herlaar, Verliefd op Cuba (2019) and Alles is zoals het zou moeten zijn (2020).
Jan can be seen in the feature Piece of my Heart (2022) directed by Dana Nechustan, the feature film Zomer in Frankrijk (2023) in which he plays a lead role and the television series Onderhuids (2023). Upcoming is Riposte, a short film about male victims of sexual abuse, in which Jan plays the lead role.
He is a coveted judge on shows like Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance in both The Netherlands and Belgium, and is a creative force behind developing series and writing songs.
Jan is also at home on stage, having performed in the play Nureyev (2023), where he portrayed the world-famous ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev. His captivating performance received thunderous applause and rave reviews. Additionally, Jan took on the lead role in the musical Pretty Woman (2023). He is currently working as both co-producer and actor on the stage adaptation of Saskia Noort's book Nieuwe Buren, directed by Aus Greidanus Jr.
