Noortje Herlaar is an award-winning Dutch actress and singer. She earned a Dutch Academy Award (Golden Calf) for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Kapsalon Romy (2019), which also won Best Film at Cinekid and the International Children's Film Festival in Norway. She was nominated for a Dutch Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in the critically acclaimed TV-series Moeder, Ik wil bij de Revue (2012).

Noortje can be seen in several international productions, such as the second season of TV-series Crossing Lines (2014), the Belgian film Paradise Trips (2015) and the Hollywood film The Hitman’s Bodyguard (2017), starring Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. She starred in Ramses (2013), a four-part drama series around Ramses Shaffy and Liesbeth List, that earned the coveted Prix Europe for Best European TV Fiction Series, and the prestigious Nipkow Award for Best TV-series of the year.
Herlaar played several lead roles in critically acclaimed movies, like the much-anticipated Dutch book adaptation Knielen op een Bed Violen (2016), opposite Barry Atsma, Toen mijn Vader een Stuik werd (2016), the musical romcom De Zevende Hemel (2016), Toen Ik je Zag (2023) based on Isa Hoes' moving story about the tragic loss of Antonie Kamerling and Net als in de film (2023), with Noortje starring in the lead role as Annabel, a disco-loving girl from a working-class neighborhood, alongside Benja Bruijning. On television, she played lead roles in the thriller series Lois (2018), De 12 van Oldenheim (2017) and De Zaak Menten (2018) which won a Dutch Academy Award, BANFF Rockie Award and the prestigious Nipkow Award.
Noortje played one of the most desired lead roles on stage: Mary Poppins in the musical Mary Poppins for which she earned the Musical Award for Most Promising Talent. Consequently, she starred in The Producers, Agnes of God, Vaslav, Urinetown for which she earned another Musical Award, and the Dutch version of Lazarus.
