Thekla Reuten stands as a powerhouse of European cinema, celebrated for her versatility, charisma, and magnetic performances. A graduate of the prestigious Amsterdam University of the Arts, she burst onto the international stage with standout roles in the Oscar-nominated films Iedereen Beroemd! (2000) and De Tweeling (2002), where her portrayal of the spirited Lotte captivated audiences. That same year she was recognized as a Berlinale Shooting Star. In 2022, Thekla won the award for Best Actress at Porto Film Festival for Marionette, and in 2023, she received the same award for her role in Narcosis, which also earned her the Dutch Academy Award (Golden Calf) for Best Actress. The film went on to represent The Netherlands in its bid for the Oscars in 2023.

While her cinematic achievements are towering, Thekla's artistry began on the stage, with memorable performances at London’s Almeida Theatre and the Salzburger Festspiele. Throughout her career, she has lent her talent to more than 60 productions, earning widespread acclaim for her work.

Fluent in Dutch, English, Italian, German, and French, Thekla has seamlessly transitioned between international blockbusters and deeply personal projects. Her filmography sparkles with roles in In Bruges (2008), The American (2010), opposite George Clooney, Red Sparrow (2018), opposite Jennifer Lawrence, Marionette (2020) and Suspicious Minds (2023). Her television credits are equally impressive, with performances in fan-favorite series such as Lucky Man (2017), Warrior Nun (2020–2022) and the highly anticipated Citadel: Diana (2024).

Beyond acting, Thekla is shaping the future of storytelling by venturing into directing and producing. Co-developing a slate of exciting new projects, she is driven by a passion for crafting narratives that entertain, provoke thought, and inspire emotional connection.
