Jip van den Toorn is a renowned Dutch cartoonist known for her work featured weekly in the Dutch newspaper De Volkskrant and the Belgian newspaper De Morgen. In 2022, her book Crisis was published by uitgeverij Podium. Additionally, she contributes to various magazines and newspapers in the Netherlands and Belgium, including De VPRO-gids, Het Parool, and De Standaard.
Jip van den Toorn
From 2019 to 2024, Jip worked as a writer and editor for the satirical TV show Dit was het Nieuws. Her talent has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the World Illustration Awards (2018) for Inappropriate Pillows, the Fiep Westendorp Stimulation Prize (2019) and the Inktspotprize (2022) for the best political cartoon of the year; making her the first female and youngest recipient of the award.
In 2024, she participated as a contestant in the popular Dutch tv-show Wie is de Mol. Jip is also a regular sidekick on the talk show Sophie & Jeroen.
